Julio Vega has died at the age of 60. The Mexican actor dies after being hospitalized battling cirrhosis on Tuesday, July 5. Morning show Hoy confirmed the news on Twitter writing: “Unfortunately, minutes ago Julio Vega passed away from Cirrhosis, Secretary of Social Care of the ANDA confirmed.” See original tweet below!
It was earlier today when Vega’s sons, Fernando and Mariano Vega, released a statement updating on their father’s health. “About a month and a half ago we noticed that our father’s complection started turning yellowish and we quickly took him to the doctor,” they said. “They practiced numerous studies and we found out he had cirrhosis.”
Julio Vega was given medication to help but they did not cause reversal. “The process of his sickness has advanced quickly,” he said. “With the new medication my father was able to gain mobility, he didn’t have strength to get out of bed and has lost a lot of muscle mass.”
Julio Vega was a seasoned telenovela actor that participated in titles like Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma (1995), Rencor Apasionado (1998), Camila (1998), Locura De Amor (2000), Clase 406 (2002), Sueños y Caramelos (2005), Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo (2008), Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe (2009), Amores Verdaderos (2013) and lastly on Hasta El Fin Del Mundo (2014).
